chat.fhir.org is the FHIR community's Zulip: the de facto real-time brain of the standards world. Public read without login; free account to post. Streams that matter for ImOnFHIR builders: #implementers (general), #Da Vinci and per-IG streams (PAS / DTR / CRD / PDex — IG authors often answer there), #terminology, #tooling (validator, IG Publisher), #hapi (our sidecar class of server), #SMART, and #Security and Privacy.

Rule of the road: search first; ask in the narrowest stream; expect IG authors and toolchain maintainers to answer. Ballot gossip, validator regressions, and IG errata usually surface here before any vendor doc catches up. Zulip URLs are stable and deep-linkable — bookmark the streams you actually use.

What ImOnFHIR does with it: this card is the Builder-track "how to get help" page. We link the open community; we do not scrape or republish chat archives as product content. A later "pulse" widget from Zulip's public API is optional — the field guide ships as content with library v1.
