Analytics
What is counted, and what is not
Two analytics providers are in use. This page says what each one sees. Where the repository does not settle a fact, the page says not stated.
What is counted
| Provider | Where it runs | What it sees |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel Analytics | Every page, including the Lab. | Page views, and the named events defined in the code: validator_run, validator_dtr_analysis, validator_cdex_analysis, washer_run, compare_used, library_read, security_review_cta. |
| Google Analytics 4 | Public pages only, never the Lab. It loads only when its measurement id is configured. | Page views. The page address is rebuilt from a fixed list of public paths: query strings and fragments are dropped, and an unknown path is sent as one placeholder. client_storage is none, so there is no _ga cookie and no persistent client id. Google Signals and ad personalisation are off. |
What is not counted
- The contents of a tool. The Lab's events (validator, washer, compare) are sent with no properties: the event name and nothing else.
- Google Analytics 4 never runs on a Lab page, and is suppressed on
/licenses. - Google Analytics 4 sets no
_gacookie and keeps no persistent client id. - Google Signals and ad personalisation are off.
Retention
Google Analytics 4 retention: not stated in the code. Vercel Analytics retention: not stated.
